Summer Mushroom Foraging Workshop

Full day mushroom intensive workshop at Bella Vista Farm.

Whether you are a mushroom newbie or a fungus freak, this class will build and strengthen your knowledge of fungi and your ability to identify them properly!

The day will include learning mushroom anatomy and the different mushroom families.

*How to know the differences between gills, pores, tubes, teeth. 

*How to do spore prints

*Toxic and deadly species

*Cooking and mushroom tastings

*Foraging, collection, storage

*Mushroom Medicine

*Hours in the woods collecting different species

*LUNCH included

*Forager Chick's Wild Mushroom Journal included.

This is completely hands on! Lecture and hiking over 24 acres through the fields, into the woods, over creeks. ***Please note - you must be physically able to hike without restrictions.***

What to bring: 

Basket, knife, backpack, notebook, hat -if desired, camping chair, water bottle, insect repellent, wear closed toed shoes - long pants recommended for the hiking part. Rain gear-in case, any mushroom field guide if you have 1, mushrooms you collect day before class stored in paper bags for ID table.
